Introduction
"I was impressed by the expressiveness of Perlove Medical's full-process solution for spine surgery. There are several advantages. First, the orthopedic surgical robot navigation system allows for precise planning of the insertion point, angle and depth of screw implantation, finding the best puncture location at once. Second, 3D imaging technology can visualize the whole process, which not only increases safety but also controls the required depth of screw implantation and increases screw holding force. Third, precise positioning improves the success rate of surgery. In this complex surgery for spinal scoliosis, the orthopedic surgical robot navigation system was able to efficiently complete the implantation of eight pedicle screws at a time, and its screw placement efficiency was much higher than that of the hand, shortening the length of surgery."

the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University
Recently, Dr. Wang Boyao and his team at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University completed a case of posterior fusion for lumbar scoliosis with the assistance of the Perlove Medical’s orthopedic surgical robotic navigation system. The surgery was a complete success, achieving a breakthrough in surgical precision, minimal invasion and intelligence.
Patient Information and Preoperative Examination
Patient Information
Patient's Gender: female
Patient's Age: 68 years old
Preoperative Examination: lumbar scoliosis, old lumbar compression fracture (L2L3), severe osteoporosis
Surgery: robot-assisted posterior fusion for lumbar scoliosis + zygapophysial joint bone grafting

Special features of this surgery
The patient presented with spinal scoliosis and rotation, deviating from the conventional anatomical position. If percutaneous screw surgery is performed, it is difficult to place the screw, the difficulty of placing the support rod increases, and the scoliosis is not corrected to achieve a satisfactory orthopedic result. In order to alleviate the patient's symptoms and to better correct the scoliosis, open surgery is the best surgical option for this patient.
Surgical procedure
Preoperative preparations were made, and after the patient was successfully anesthetized, she was placed in the prone position, routinely disinfected laying a towel and applying a skin protection film.
The patient was scanned with the Perlove Medical flat-panel 3D C-arm and the intraoperative 3D images were transmitted to the orthopedic surgical robot navigation system. The surgical robot performed surgical planning based on the high-definition intraoperative 3D images. A surgical incision of approximately 8 cm was made in the surgical area to fully expose the lumbar spine, which was relatively small compared to other orthopedic robotic surgeries and traditional open surgery, reducing patient trauma.

*Preoperative Planning
With the assistance of the orthopedic surgery robotic navigation system, eight pedicle screws were accurately implanted at one time. For this type of complex scoliosis surgery, Perlove Medical's full-process solution for spine surgery copes with it, shortening the length of the surgery, increasing the safety of the surgery while improving the efficiency of the surgery and effectively improving the patient's prognosis.

About Full-process Solution for Spine Surgery
The full-process solution for spine surgery is a combination of Perlove Medical's fully self-developed orthopedic surgery robot PL300B and flat-panel 3D C-arm PLX7500, which enables intraoperative 3D imaging and precise positioning to improve accuracy, saving surgery time and optimizing the surgical process.
Perlove Medical is the first manufacturer in China that combines intraoperative 3D imaging C-arm and spine surgical navigation system.
Equipped with the intraoperative 3D imaging C-arm system which independently developed and produced by Perlove, PL300B integrated with self-adaptive calibration technology can realize image automatic calibration. The clinical accuracy reaches sub-millimeter level (0.7mm), which has the advantages of high positioning accuracy and small surgical incision compared with traditional surgery. After years of R&D accumulation, it has made a new breakthrough in the core technology, leading the industry in clinical accuracy, and has unique advantages in safety and surgical efficiency.
The five-dimensional motorized motion of the Perlove Medical flat-panel 3D C-arm provides doctors with a flexible and open surgical space; it is equipped with an industry-leading 30CM*30CM dynamic flat pane detector and a split high-power high-voltage generator, which has excellent imaging field and precision, realizing "high quality and low dose" imaging effect and protecting the health of doctors and patients.
