Safety information
Pregnant women and breast-feeding women are not suitable.
Wear x-ray protective coats and glasses when operating the machine. When taking normal radiography, the focus-skin distance should be longer (at least more than 200mm), and the body should be as close to the flat panel detector as possible. Use lower dosage exposure if condition allowed.
As radioactive equipment, this equipment shall be operated by operator strictly according to provisions of the User Manual and cannot be used for other purpose except medical radiography. As improper operation will damage this equipment, it can only be used by trained personnel with needed radiation knowledge.
The potential side effects of the PLX5100 are related to X-ray radiation. There are mainly two types of side-effects of X-ray radiation:
l Deterministic effects: acute exposure to high levels of radiation may result in skin injury, tissue necrosis
l Stochastic effects: long-term health effects years and decades into future due to cumulative exposure to X-ray radiation, such as increase in DNA mutations, cataract formation and cancer incidence
The X-ray radiation dose of the PLX5100 is low which aims to limit the possibility of collateral side effects. When used as intended under medical supervision of a qualified radiographer, it is not likely anticipated to result in unforeseeable or observable side-effects.
